Commercial teams turn on firepower
the five Group B matches alone.
Leading the way were Bermuda Pest Control who blasted Somerset Extros 9-3 with Delton White scoring a hat-trick, Anthony Francis and Kenneth Francis two each and James Braithwaite and Dudley Lightbourne the others. Ronue Cann and C.Dill (2) scored for Extros.
Division leaders Fire Service went down 4-0 to Wolves Pack as Casey Burgess (2) and Sammy Lambe got among the goals for the winners. Devonshire Lions in second place also lost, going down 1-0 to North Village Rams in a game of missed chances.
Mike Levon earned Rams the points with the game's only goal in the second half as the win lifted Rams into second place ahead of Lions.
Valley also moved ahead of Lions following their 6-2 win over Prison Officers as Andrew Fraser, Blake Lambert, Timothy Telford, Earl Pringle (2) and Sean Smith scored for the winners. Denton Leader netted both Prison Officers goals.
In the other B match, Belco drew 2-2 with Exiles to pick up only their second point of the season and move off the bottom at Extros' expense. Orel Swan and Shawn Spencer scored the Belco goals.
Leaders BAA Wanderers and second-placed Robin Hood were the big winners in Group A as 16 goals were scored.
Robin Hood had six different scorers in their 7-0 win over Devonshire Colts All-Stars. John Beardsley scored twice and others came from Allan Mooney, Alex McLoughlin, Tim Parris, "Bleary'' Arnold and T.Miller.
Wanderers proved too strong for fourth-placed Spinning Wheel as they hammered them 5-0 on goals from Stuart Drake (2), Vince Chaves, Andy McCulloch and Mike O'Connell. The win kept Wanderers two points ahead of Hood and Island Rangers who kept in contention with a 1-0 win over MR Onions. Mike Bremar was the Rangers scorer.
Lobster Pot also won 1-0, beating Forties on a Tony Smith goal while Mariners and St. George's All-Stars drew 1-1. Cal Rayner's equaliser earned All-Stars a point.
