Guyana after failing to get in a game yesterday because of the New Year's holiday.

Instead the team had another training session yesterday morning before rain interrupted their preparations. Now it looks like the most matches the team will play before departing on Monday will be three or four, depending on whether opponents can be found for a match tomorrow.

As of last night, games were planned for today, Saturday and Sunday. The 14-member squad is led by manager Rudolph Lawrence and coach Allan Douglas.

"We're just keeping our fingers crossed that we can get in some matches,'' said Lawrence last night. "It is difficult when it rains because they are below sea level.'' YOUNG BLAZERS PUT ON A SHOW SOC Young Blazers put on a show Boulevard 3 Southampton 1 Two spectacular goals in the space of seven minutes early in the second half earned Boulevard victory in this Junior Premier Shield soccer final at St.

David's yesterday.

After a scoreless first half, Boulevard delighted the growing crowd with a couple of outstanding strikes soon after the restart -- goals any First Division player would have been proud of.

The first came just 25 seconds into the half when a pass through the middle of the Rangers defence created an opening and Mel Gibbons hit a first time volley that smashed into the roof of the net.

After Dawud Tucker went close for Rangers at the other end, Boulevard struck again a minute later when Aaron Williams fired a shot home from an acute angle inside the box.

Rangers pulled one back through Rohaan Simons in the 71st minute before Vernon Phillips netted Boulevard's third five minutes from the end.

SHERLOCK IFTS MATCHPLAY TITLE GLF Sherlock lifts Matchplay title Quinton Sherlock, home on vacation from his studies at Grambling State University in Louisiana, staged a gritty comeback to win the Bermuda Junior Golf Matchplay Championships with a two-up victory over Andrew Trott on Tuesday.

Sherlock had trailed by three holes after the first round of the 36-hole championship flight final at Riddell's Bay, but hauled himself back into the match with birdies at the seventh and ninth during the afternoon, and finally drew level at the 12th.

Another birdie at the 360 yard 14th put Sherlock ahead and he went on to clinch the match at the 18th.

In the consolation final played over 18 holes, Chaka DeSilva defeated Patrick Graham two-up.
