The big hit pulled Wildcats within a run of ACT who won by an 11-10 margin, thanks to Paul Thorne and David Sousa who combined for five hits. Thorne went three-for-four while Sousa went two-for-four.

Karon Alcock went two-for-three for the losers and Gary Knight was two-for-four. Thorne was the winning pitcher while Al McKinnon suffered the loss.

Rubbernecks defeated Surface Trends 7-4 behind winning pitcher Ray Horn. Randy Kowch suffered the loss.

Horn also had a big night a the plate going 1-for-3 with a homer and two runs batted in, while teammate Bill Ross went one-for-three. Dave Chambray went two-for-three for the losers.

PALMS slammed Sousa's 19-4 with Dennis Pamplin going two-for-three and taking the win. Teammate Larry King went two-for-three and Derron Trott three-for-three.

Carlos Faries had a homer and three runs batted in for the losers.

D Division leaders Deloitte and Touche maintained their perfect record on Saturday night with a hard fought 15-14 triumph over Oasis Night Owls, who put up a fight belying their lowly position second from the division's cellar.

In the end it was the big bats of Touche that prevailed as Philip Marsh and Robin Sarkar supplied seven RBI between them to offset three presented by Oasis' Mike McCallum, who went three-for-four, including three doubles.

Marty Brandt emerged as the winning pitcher for Touche, while McCallum was saddled with the loss.

In another tight affair BSL Barracudas struggled to put away Arctic Penguins 16-11, needing all of a four-for-four, five RBI night from Neil Movold combined with John Mullin's two RBI.

John Gallo did all he could to keep Penguins in touch, going three-for-four with five RBI, but his efforts proved in vain as pitcher Bill Walden hung around to collect another victory over losing hurler Brian Darby.

The night's opening encounter was not nearly as close, with Ace Insurance blasting Texaco Oilers 16-5.

Friday night witnessed Butterfield and Steinhoff pummelling Elbow Beach 25-10, Marsh and McLennan squeaked past AIM Wahoos 8-7, while Chips hammered Centre Re 16-4.
