opening rounds at the weekend.

Cock & Feather, 13-6 winners over Snowballs on Saturday, advanced to the Division A finals and will square off against Gateway Herd, who defeated Team Xerox 17-8 in a game on Friday.

In Division B, AICO slammed the door on Tropical Breezers 13-11 and will advance against St. David's. BF&M steamrolled over Centre Re 23-3 on Saturday and will now play Business Systems in the Division D finals.

Also on Saturday, Cooper & Lines came from behind to defeat Prison Officers 21-20 and they advanced to the Division C showdown and will face the winnerz of last night's encounter between Showbizz and Marsh & McLennan.

Cooper & Lines needed a two-run home run from Keith DeCosta in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn their spot in the finals. Winning pitcher DeCosta was an unlikely hero after being shellshocked for 20 runs on the night.

Harold and Clinton Aitken were the other hitting stars, with three hits and a home run apiece. Deborah Philip was five-for-five at the plate in the losing cause with two triples and two doubles.

For Gateway Herd, Craig Prall unleashed an all-out assault on Team Xerox with four hits including a round-tripper and double. Mark Kaplan was sparkling on the mound, allowing eight runs and rendering key hits off the bats of Cliff Ridley and Ralph DePalma.

Business Systems will need their long lay-off to warm up for BF&M, who seem to have hit their hitting stride. BFM exploded for 23 runs against Centre Re in a game in which they allowed only three runs behind Alan Watson's pitching gem.

Donny Moniz clubbed a home run for the winners, going four-for-four with five runs batted in.

Other key batsmen were Glen Gibbons and Ken Williams with two hits apiece.

Dennis Pamplin continued his pitching mastery over Snowballs pitching Cock & Feather to a 13-6 triumph. Lloyd Jenkins had four hits and Matt Taylor blasted a Valcourt offering over the fence.
