Douglas in 200 metres spotlight
in Gothenburg, Sweden begin today with the first two rounds of heats in the 200 metres.
If Troy Douglas is successful he'll then compete in tomorrow's semi-finals.
The finals are also tomorrow.
"I'm ready, I'm cool and I have no problems,'' said Douglas from his room in the athletes' village yesterday. "I'm in good spirits, that's all I can say.'' On Monday triple jumper Brian Wellman won a silver medal with a leap of 17.62 metres (57 feet, 93 inches).
Douglas was a silver medallist in the 200 metres at the World Indoor Championships earlier this year when he clocked 20.94 seconds, finishing behind reigning outdoor champion Geri Moen of Norway.
"I'm 100 percent and I'm going to go out and give a 125 percent performance,'' said Douglas.
Douglas spent most of yesterday relaxing, although he did take part in a light training session.
