will take on PHC in the two semifinals of the Martonmere Cup tonight at PHC Stadium.

And while Colts, the first winners of the cup 20 years ago, should be favoured over a PHC team that will miss internationals Sammy Swan, Kyle Lightbourne and goalkeeper Carlyle Crockwell, Somerset will not have an easy time against Town in the 7.00 opener.

That is not to say that PHC will be any easier to beat than Town. But Town have so much depth in their squad that they can find adequate replacements for Paul Cann, Lloyd Christopher, Voorhees Astwood and Neil Paynter who are with the national team.

Their attack is virtually unaffected with front men Walter Musson, Carlos Smith and Stevie Wade linking up. Lionel Cann, a regular scorer in the reserves, gives coach Robert Calderon another attacking option.

Somerset have only Dennis Brown in the national team and that does not affect them too much because he has not played with them so far this season because of injury.

The Simmons brothers, Larry, Randy and Kelly, are back out to give the team some much needed experience, though the loss of winger Jerry Webb for the next three matches hurts them in attack. Webb was sent off last week against Boulevard along with Kevin Hodgson for fighting.

Unbeaten Colts should have the edge over PHC, who clinched the last semifinal place last week with a 3-2 win over North Village at Devonshire Rec. They looked severely depleted last week as they fielded a number of youngsters and their biggest worry will be in the goalkeeping department where first choice Ty Williams has been out injured and Crockwell is on national team duty.

These two teams played to a 1-1 draw in the league earlier in the season but Colts, with captain Craig Smith leading their attack, look like reaching the final for the first time since the 1978-79 season.

Three double-headers are scheduled for Thursday night as the FA Cup kicks off with the elimination round.

At PHC Stadium, Social Club take on Coca-Cola at 7.00 with Spinning Wheel meeting Vasco at 9.00.

Somerset Eagles play Prison Officers in the 7.00 opener at Somerset with Port Royal taking on Robin Hood in the feature match while at Devonshire Rec, St.

George's All-Stars meet Exiles in the opener and Paget play BAA in the second contest.

The remaining elimination round matches are scheduled for next Tuesday with Fire Service meeting Southampton Rangers and Island Rangers taking on Forties at Somerset and Lobster Pot meeting KPMG in the 9.00 fixture at PHC Stadium.

That match will be preceded by a women's league match between Dandy Stars and Terminators at 7.00.
