Edwards, Hollis banned

spinner Del Hollis have both been slapped with bans by Bermuda Cricket Board of Control (BCBC), The Royal Gazette has learned.

Edwards has reportedly been suspended for two weeks following an incident during his club's recent Camel Cup semi-final against Bailey's Bay. But the length of Hollis' suspension or details of the incident which led to it, could not be confirmed last night.

Both players were conspicuous by their absence from line-ups for Sunday's Premier Division matches, Edwards reduced to the role of spectator during his side's drawn match against Willow Cuts, and Hollis occupying a similar role during Cleveland's match against Southampton, which also ended in a draw.

BCBC officials yesterday refused to divulge details of the disciplinary action taken against the pair, but promised to release a statement after a report had been submitted to the executive.
