place 11th overall in the two-star CCI event in Lion D'Anger.

Collins, riding Bermuda Twist, was among only 56 riders from a starting field of 81 who progressed through to yesterday's show jumping event, the last phase of the three day competition.

Collins' Island team-mates, Gina Flood Farrell and Nicola DeSousa Parnell, both took part in Saturday's steeple and cross-country but were then advised by a veterinarian that their horses were not fit to complete the final stage.

Flood Farrell had given Bermuda a storming start to the event on Friday by moving into third place overall at the end of the dressage.

Riding Swizzle Inn, she was behind only New Zealand's Mark Todd and Great Britain's Mary Thomson.

Flood Farrell had amassed 52.40 points compared to 45.80 scored by Todd and Thomson. At that stage Collins and DeSousa Parnell were placed 44th and 54th respectively.

Collins had 65.8 points and Parnell, on Castle Blarney, 70.40 points.

Collins moved dramatically up the standings on Saturday to 14th place with a fine cross country ride while DeSousa Parnell advanced one place to 53rd.
