They're training hard in readiness to compete in the Paralympics later this month.

Miss Anderson, 24, and Mrs. Harshaw, 40, will compete in the dressage at Atlanta's Horse Park, the first time dressage has been included in the Paralympics.

Both riders will be performing the Second Level Test dressage and will also be doing a freestyle programme to music. They are due to leave Bermuda on August 12.

Miss Anderson was born without her left hand and forearm and Mrs. Harshaw had her arm amputated at the age of eight when gangrene set following an accident.

She is also legally blind, with only 15 percent vision.

They have both been training at Ocean View Stables whose owner, Dutch oil magnate John Deuss, is sponsoring them.
