A stellar field has been lined up for next month's Heinz Bermuda Open Squash Championships.

Included are three-time winner Brett Martin of Australia, ranked fourth in the world, world number 11 Zarak Khan of Pakistan, as well as four others ranked among the top 25.

One of those is defending champion Paul Gregory, an Englishman who beat Martin in last year's semi-finals before going on to take the title, by defeating Del Harris.

Gregory will be seeded number three this year behind Martin and Zarak respectively.

In fact, the list of invitees includes three former winners, with 1993 champion Gary Waite of Canada joining Martin and Gregory.

Meanwhile, ranked at four is Hansi Wiens, who has risen 40 places from being 61st a scant three years ago when he stood as an alternate for the Bermuda event to his current number 21 position.

Another player on the rise is Craig Rowland (22nd in world), while two former world junior champions Juha Raumolin of Finland and Canadian Johnathan Power, could also spring a surprise or two, as well as provide inspiration for those involved in the local youth programme.

Representing Bermuda will be Julian Rose, the former club professional ranked at 151 in the world who enters as the lone wild card.

The Open takes place from April 7 to 11 at the squash courts in Devonshire.

Open line-up: Brett Martin, Zarak Jahan Khan, Paul Gregory, Hansi Wiens, Craig Rowland, Angus Kirkland, Abdul Faheem Khan, Gary Waite, Mir Zamam Gul, Lucas Buit, Jamie Crombie, Stefan Casteleyn, Juha Raumolin, Jonathan Power, John White, Julian Rose.
