Bristol. He was in his 83rd year and passed away after a long illness.

In addition to being a long-serving member of the Bermuda Cricket Umpires Association Bristol also served as president of Willow Cuts Cricket Club for several years.

Bristol was featured in many top matches, including the annual Cup Match, during the 50s and early 60s as an umpire before eventually deciding to contribute to the sport at a club level. He was affectionally known as Sid Buller after the former top English Test umpire. The funeral will be held in Somerset today.

Randy Butler, secretary of the BCUA, said that he had fond memories of Bristol.

"Cricket was his love, rarely did time go by when he wasn't there watching the sport that he loved and this included the recent times when his health was not that good,'' said Butler. "Aside from having made a vast contribution as an umpire, he went on to help Willow Cuts as an administrator and played a vital role in helping the club survive through some tough times. He indeed make his mark in local cricket in various areas and will be sorely missed.'' OBITUARY OBT
