Giant-killers Hood earn cup bye

Cup which involves First Division sides, after yesterday's draw for the second round produced some interesting match-ups.

Robin Hood, who reached the semi-finals in 1991, began what they hope will be another good run in the cup by beating PHC 1-0 on Sunday. And they are already certain of reaching the third round after getting the only bye in yesterday's draw.

Five matches will be held on November 8 to decide which teams join the 10 First Division clubs in the third round.

Commercial League champions BAA Wanderers, who got by Prospect in the first round, will be looking to add another Second Division scalp to their collection when they meet St. George's Colts while MR Onions take on Paget.

St. George's All-Stars, who received a bye in the last round following the late withdrawal of Forties, meet Ireland Rangers at Somerset while the other two matches see Commercial teams Mariners playing Belco at BAA Field and Somerset Eagles meeting Social Club in an all-Second Division clash.

Draw: Ireland Rangers v St. George's All-Stars (Somerset, 2.30); Mariners v Belco (BAA Field, 12.30); BAA Wanderers v St. George's Colts (BAA Field, 2.30); MR Onions v Paget (White Hill, 12.30) Somerset Eagles v Social Club (White Hill, 2.30).
