Griffiths hits double to down Swifts
Swallows put the early pressure on Swifts and their efforts were rewarded with a penalty corner, from which Cath Griffiths found the net.
Swifts defence kept the Swallows attack at bay for the rest of the first-half, with Lisete Moniz producing an outstanding performance at centre-back.
The second half saw Swifts play very good hockey, preventing Swallows from creating scoring opportunities and producing a few themselves.
Swallows' second goal came from an error by Swifts -- Liz Osborne picking up the ball in midfield and running it into the Swifts' D, her shot being deflected in by Griffiths.
Swifts pulled a goal back late on, Kathie Shaw smacking home a rebound.

The breakthrough came in the 29th minute when a great run and cross from Diane Moore fed Sandy Cram who scored.
Swallows continued to press in the second period, scoring three times in quick succession.
Nicola Wilkinson got the ball rolling before Cram netted her second after a goalmouth scramble. Annaka Rubidge rounded off the scoring with a quick reaction to a deflection.
Police 1 Rebels 1 This Men's League match got off to a quick start with both teams scoring in the first-half.
Rebels opened the scoring through Donny Moniz after an inspired run from the right wing. Police responded when the Rebels dropped their guard.
The second half saw both teams create chances but neither were able to capitalise.
Upstarts 2 Wasps 1 Wasps began well and were first on the scoreboard, however through the imspired leadership of Neil Carroll, Upstarts levelled the match when he converted a penalty stroke.
Martin Murphy gave the Upstarts the lead in the second period, driving home after a bullet of a cross and they hung on to take the victory.
