Harvey scores major upset

Junior Caribbean Squash Championships when she won through to the final of the under 14 girls competition with a victory over number one seed Carla Jackson of Barbados.

Harvey dropped the second game of a close-fought encounter before clinching a place against Bermuda's Nicola Swain in tonight's final.

Swain started tentatively in her semifinal against Ruth Fraser of Guyana but quickly gained control of the match to win in straight games.

Bermuda's girls captain Carolyn Young downed Alicia Fredericks of Guyana in straight games to earn a place in the girls under 19 final.

She will play Andrea Goodridge of Barbados who beat Bermuda's Joanna Sherratt in straight games.

Nick Kyme powered his way into the boys under 12 final with a comfortable victory over Matthew Wight of the Cayman Islands. He will face Sam Taylor of Barbados tonight.

Bermuda's other hope in boys individual competition, Tommy Sherratt, coasted to victory over Ryan Truss of Barbados and will face Guyana's Yerodin Parris in the final.
