Hassell finished the day with two firsts and a second at Coney Island in races for the Sinclair Easton Memorial Trophy.

Robbie Smith marked his return to racing after a one year lay-off through injury by finishing second to Hassell with a second, first and fourth place.

In the final moto, with Hassell and Smith tied on points, Smith experienced bike problems and had to settle for fourth while Hassell picked up his second win of the day. Jamal Pitcher secured third place in his first race after a 10-year absence, placing third in all three motos.

The 125C class was dominated by Otis Ingham with three firsts. Ingham will ride in the more competitive B class for the rest of the season. Wentworth Tucker and Ali Hatterley came in second and third respectively.

In the absence of Charles Butterfield and Duprey Joell, Ricardo Nottingham had an easy win in the 250cc class, with newcomer Jimi Heyder coming in second in his first race in Bermuda.

Steven Panchaud pulled off another easy victory in the 80cc class, picking up where he left off last season, as a host of top riders were not able to compete.

Class favourite Jimmy Lee Weaver is out due to a shoulder injury and should return by mid-November while Jakai Brimmer and Aaron Cannonier, who are also expected to put in bids for the 80cc title, were both off the Island. They will be back in time for the next race day on November 1.

Terry Sousa and Chris Perinchief finished second and third in that class on Sunday.

Gary Cann showed his experience in the 60cc class as he went on to win each moto fairly easily. Paulos Francis finished second overall with Anthony Grant rounding out the top three.

Jarcibio Ratteray surprised the crowd with three moto wins in his debut race in the 50cc class, while class favourite Jonte Smith ended up second and Zahkie Iris finished third on his debut.

Race organisers deemed the event a huge success and expect to have many more riders out for the first Pepsi National points race to be held on November 1.
