Donie Charles, Shawn Riley and Herbert Dillas are due to stand trial in Miami on drugs charges. But chief of the narcotics division at the Dade County's State Attorney's office Mr. David Weinstein told The Royal Gazette on Friday that he did not anticipate the trials going ahead today.
He said he believed another date would be fixed -- unless the players changed their not guilty pleas.
"I do not anticipate a full-blow trial ghoing ahead,'' he said.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon, a hearing involving 17-year-old Tokia Russell is due to be held in juvenile court The players, arrested on December 9 at Miami International Airport, face charges of possessing and importing canabis.
Facing the same charges are Mesach Wade, Kevin Jennings and Keishon Smith.
Wade's trial is set for next Monday, while a February 21 date has been fixed for Jennings and Smith.
