Bermuda qualifying event for the World Long Drive Championship.

Second-placed Calix Todd's drive was just half a yard shorter, while third-placed Billie Joe Pitcher was credited with a 312-yard drive.

Pitcher in fact was unfortunate not to win the two-day event held at the weekend, as he hit a momentous, 372-yard drive, which travelled 335 yards on the fly, but it caught the very edge of the cart path, which automatically disqualified it.

In the Open Division B, Andrew Bissell (308 yards) took first place, with Andrew peniston (298) second and Greg Weeks (278) third.

Maxwell Curtis took the honours in the senior division with a 297-yard effort, bettering David Swiderski by 11 yards.

Katrin Burnie (232) was a comfortable winner in the women's division, ahead of Louise Payne (216) and Mary McCabe (199).

Eight of the men and two of the women have now qualified for the Caribbean District Championships on October 7 at the Hyatt Regency Cerromar Beach in Dorado, Puerto Rico.

There they will all have a chance to shoot for a $1-million hole-in-one.
