Jones, Wainwright send Bridge crashing

Somerset Bridge 67 Skipper Olin Jones snatched three wickets for just 13 runs off five overs and Keith Wainwright struck 40 to lead Southampton Rangers to a 38-run victory over Somerset Bridge in a First Division limited overs game at White Hill Field on Sunday.

The game was delayed until after 1.00 p.m. because the field was not properly prepared and officials then reduced the contest to 25 overs a side.

Inspired by Wainwright, league leaders Southampton batted until play was halted by rain at 3.00 p.m. David Burchall scored 19, Aaron Burrows 15 and Janeiro Tucker 12 not out.

Bridge struggled for runs with David Jones being their only player in double figures with 17.

In addition to Olin Jones' fine bowling spell, Ryan Belboda returned two for 19 off five overs, including a maiden, while Tucker also had two for 19 off five overs.

Social Club 60 PHC 64-1 Shoron Hunt claimed five for 32 off nine overs to lead PHC to this nine-wicket triumph over Social Club.

Assisting Hunt in the demolition were Neil Anglin and Mark Smith who combined to take four wickets. Anglin returned two for 19 off eight overs while Smith had two for two off 1.4 overs.

Jaymo Durham was the only Social Club batsman in double figures with 18.

PHC secured victory from 14.3 overs with Kenny Mills and Gerald Simons both undefeated on 20. Kevin Dill was out for 13.

PHC 89 Flatts 93-4 Flatts defeated PHC by six wickets at St. John's Field on Saturday with Andrew Richardson scoring 29 and Dwayne Leverock 15 not out. Hewonnie Brown followed with 18 not out and Gershwon Gibbons 12.

Mark Smith led the PHC bowlers with two for 15 off two overs.
