the first time in several weeks yesterday.

The transfer-listed Stoke City striker turned out in the Avon Insurance League Cup against West Bromwich Albion.

The cup is a knockout for professional side's second strings. The match at the Britannia Stadium ended 0-0 and there were few goal opportunities to speak of.

Lightbourne was included in a young line-up after not figuring in either of City's matches over the festive period.

The Bermudian international has been frozen out of the first eleven by boss, Gudjon Thordarson who has brought in a number of players in his position.

Lightbourne is out of contract at the end of the season and would be able to move to another club for free. With that in mind, City have put him on the transfer list in a bid to recoup some of the 500,000 they paid Coventry for his services.
