struggling Stoke City after his manager Chris Kamara quit the post yesterday.

Kamara, who made Lightbourne his first signing soon after taking over in January, has been unable to prevent the team from slipping into the relegation zone. In 14 games in charge the team won just once under Kamara, slipping from 15th to bottom in the First Division. With only five games remaining Stoke are favourites for relegation. Assistant manager Alan Durban, who had a spell in charge at the club in the 1980s, will take the reins until the end of the season. Stoke face must-win situation on Saturday when they entertain another team in the bottom three, Portsmouth. On Easter Monday they are away to Crewe Alexander.
