and Vasco set to do battle for a spot in the next round (9 p.m.).

Each are coming off 1-1 draws over the weekend, BAA surprising many in holding reigning First Division champions Dandy Town, while Vasco shared the spoils with PHC.

Not much separates the pair at the bottom of the league, as each have identical 2-2-4 (won-draw-loss) records for six points.

Vasco, however, have thrived in the major cup competitions, which should give them a slight edge. But they cannot afford to overlook the fighting spirit displayed by the Green Knights, who have gained respect with recent results -- a victory over Somerset and Sunday's draw against Town.

Vasco have had their share of troubles up front in the goal-scoring department, as evidenced by Voorhees Astwood, a midfielder, leading the list and they will need the likes of Irving Burgess and Dwight Basden to find the target to relieve the scoring burden.

Conversely, defence has been BAA's nemesis, having conceded a league high 19 goals in eight matches, although almost half came in an 8-1 defeat by North Village in their season opener.

Being without the likes of sweeper Meshach Wade and goalkeeper Dwayne Adams, both on Under-23 duty in Jamaica, won't help their cause.

Former Town player Troy Harvey returned after a long absence due to injury on Sunday to shore up a makeshift defence also missing regular Treadwell Walker.

Meanwhile, tonight's opening encounter stands as a match-up of giants and minnows as high flying Somerset Eagles tackle cellar dwellers Hamilton Parish in the Shield competition (7 p.m.).

Eagles are currently second behind Southampton on goal difference and look to continue their good form against Parish, a team with just one victory in seven games against six defeats, including a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of tonight's opponents back on October 27, when Terrence Christopher netted a hat-trick.
