Lewin and crew retain regatta title
Women's Match Racing Championship in Marblehead, Massachusetts yesterday.
Lewin and her crew of sister Peta, Leatrice Roman, and Lisa Neasham topped a fleet of ten at the event -- a victory which is likely to propel her back to the top of the women's world match-racing rankings when they are announced again tomorrow.
The regatta, raced in Sonars, is the only grade one event for women in North America.
Lewin started the round robin superbly on Thursday, winning all eight flights.
The following day she only gave up close matches against Dru Slattery, of the US and French Whitbread helmswoman Christine Briand.
That trio, plus Cory Sertl of the US, qualified for the finals and Lewin, currently ranked second to Betsy Allison, came through to claim the crown for the second successive year.
