Mackerel have moved into a tie for first place in the Fishbowl League on the strength of a draw with Porgies while Wahoo won all four to knock Sharks out
Snappers, with their 3-1 win over Barracuda, are tied with Mackerel for first place.
Leading Wahoo in their win over Sharks was Doug Hines who put together the top men's series and game of 643 and 236 as well as the second high game of 231 while Richard Davidge supported with a 560 series.
Mackerel were spirited on by Lloyd Wilson's 530 and third high game of 221 while Vernon Daniels tried leading Porgies with a 545 series.
Snappers put forward a conbimed effort with Arthur Flood their top scorer with a 538 series while Ann Mitchell claimed the women's top series of 522. Marlins battled it out with Piranhas in a hotly-contested match, winning the first game by 12 pins while Piranhas won the second game by a scant two pins.
Marlins went on to win the last game and total pins for a 3-1 result. Patty Miller bowled the women's third high series of 498 to add to the Marlins total.
Rockfish were led by Bruce Benevides' second high series 563 and a 221 game in a 3-1 victory over Dolphins.
Hinds showed some of their scoring power when they defeated the Cow Pollies 4-0. Completing the night's results were Angel Fish who beat Tuna 3-1 despite the efforts of Marie Frith for Tuna who bowled the women's second high series of 515 while Mark Bell was leading the Angels on with a 508 series.
VOLLEYBALL VOL The Centre will be hosting a volleyball tournament at BAA on November 12. All youth groups are invited to register a team for a fee of $25 per team and selection will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Deadline for entries will be October 22.
The tournament will be of a double-elimination format, each game lasting 10 minutes. Groups interested in participating should drop off their entry form and fee to The Centre on Angle Street. Further inquiries should be directed to Dean Minors at 292-1343.
RUGBY RUG Junior rugby, for youngsters between six and 15, starts tomorrow at National Sports Club at noon and not today as reported in The Mid-Ocean News .
TABLE TENNIS TEN The Bermuda Table Tennis Association will be having the Top 10 Championship today, starting at noon at Elliott School gym.
The competition will utilise a round-robin format, featuring the players with the best individual records from last season.
