Manders bows out in semis
Championships came to an end at the semi-final stage.
Manders went down 7-5, 6-1 at the Trinidad event to Devan McCartney of Barbados.
The Island player's fortunes didn't get any better in the play-off for third and fourth place -- a stomach upset which affected a great number of players proving his downfall as he crashed 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
There was better luck for Kyle Williams who took the consolation final 6-3, 6-7, 6-0 against Theo Browne of Antigua. The win secured him 14th place overall.
Sasha Fisher was another struck down by food poisoning and was consequently forced to default her match for fifth or sixth place in the girls' singles tournament against Nicole Agostini of Trinidad.
Having improved the following day, Fisher and Stephanie Velasquez of Aruba beat Joanne Van Aerde of Surinam and Larissa Morris of St Vincent 6-0, 6-3 in the doubles semi-final.
In the final the pair met Agostini and Laura Marin and took the title with a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
Bermuda fared well in the overall standings, coming in fourth out of 12 teams.
