Marion have had to turn back to the Island in the face of bad weather.

Two boats arrived last night and a further five or so were expected in the early hours of this morning.

A spokesman for Harbour Radio said a tropical depression which has formed off the east coast of the US was responsible for the turnaround.

He added the yachts had been heading straight into the weather front and had decided to come back and wait for better weather.
