Moto season winds down
Championships after Sunday's races at Coney Island.
As the season moves into its last four rounds, Brandon DeSilva brought his win total to 34 in PW50 while Pierre Davis won the PW80 class with three more wins. DeSilva has lost just once this season.
Aaron Cannonier picked up another three wins in the 60cc division, his seventh hat trick of the season. Cannonier leads the class but Jakai Brimmer, third in Sunday's action, still has a shot at the title.
Gary Cann was second in all three races.
There's a new overall leader in 80cc competition, as Steve Panchaud was overtaken by Treadwell Nesbitt. Second-place Howard Paynter picked up three wins to close within eight points over Nesbitt, who was third in all three races, while Panchaud was fourth in his three motos.
Despite being held to one win, a second and a third, Mark Hatterley maintained a 47-point cushion for top spot in the 125C. Carlston Burgess closed the gap with two wins and a third.
Kemo Simons is still the 125B leader after three wins on Sunday. Aaron Pace and Robbie Smith, who trail Simons, are racing in the AMA Supercross Series in the US but are expected back after next Sunday's races.
Kyle Constable and Neilson Degraffe were second and third.
HOWARD'S END -- Howard Paynter (3) beat Shaki Easton (2) to the finish line in three straight 80cc races during Bermuda Autocycle Union motocross action at Coney Island on Sunday.
