National Sports Club showed why they are the First Division's top team when they dispatched second-placed Sandys Sports Club 4-2 in latest action.

The match was tied at 2-2 after the singles, with Paul Charleton and Tyler Moniz registering victories for Nationals and Greg Falzone and R.Henderson coming away with wins for Sandys Sports Club.

However, Nationals extended their league best doubles record to 9-1 by sweeping the next two with the pair of Moniz and Brian Walker coming from 28 points down to nip Falzone and Henderson 54-51 in the final match of the night.

Queens Club I, led by Stephen Roberts, posted a 4-2 win over St. George's Dinghy and Sports Club. `Honky' Burrows was a bright spot for St. George's when he posted a fine 34-point break in his 52-37 win over Glenn Flood, a performance that earned him First Division Player of the Week. In the other First Division match, Warwick Workmen's Club downed OCC I 4-2.

Queens Club II claimed top spot in the Second Division with a resounding 5-1 clubbing of Old Colony Club III. Patty Miller of OCC downed the league's other female player, Paula Madeiros, in a hotly contested match 45-38.

Andy Wright of Police Recreation Club was named Second Division Player of the Week and improved his record to 4-0 with a 68-32 win over A.Simons.

However, Sandys Sports Club II fought back to secure a 3-3 tie.

Spanish Point Boat Club played to a 3-3 draw against OCC II, the highlight being Gary Soares' 50-48 defeat of previously unbeaten Gordon Flood of Spanish Point.
