Newcomer Chapman in final: Bermuda Brief
Divisional Handicap squash tournament at the first attempt as all four divisions produced tight contests in their respective semi-finals.
Chapman, playing in the top division, overcame Norman Furtado in a nail-biting five-game marathon, running out the winner 15-14, 15-11, 5-15, 14-15, 15-11.
In division two, Furtado's wife Lynn was also involved in a thrilling five-game encounter, taking her match against Michael Swain to 15-7 in the final game.
Matches in division three also went all the way, with Nas Jetha sneaking past Jill Curren 15-11, 10-15, 15-13, 12-15, 15-13, and Michael Somers beating Jeff Roach 15-8 in the decider.
Division four produced a similarly tough bout as Phil Kendall came back from a game down against Nigel Henderson to win in four 9-15, 15-4, 15-7, 15-12.
In the junior division Andrew Stout scored a 15-10, 15-14, 15-11 win over fellow ten-year-old Christopher Sgobba in an exciting match played in an excellent spirit.
