OCC go top of table tennis league

Nick Frost and Neil Slater won their three matches for OCC while Mike Lindo won both doubles. Rawle Frederick avoided the shut-out for BPSA while team-mates Dapo Frederick and Rudolph Spence went winless.

OCC lead the table with 24 points from 14 matches followed by The Centre with 22 from 12 matches.

Eastern Stars maintained their two-point lead in the Second Division by beating Nexgen Ltd 10-1.

Craig Trott and Kevin Laspley led the Eastenders with three wins apiece, while team-mate Perry Swan won two. Stars won both doubles.

But more importantly Stars widened their games won and lost margin to seven points over OCC (II) -- with two matches remaining Stars have won 80 games while losing 74. OCC are 73-81.

OCC (II) had a war with the youngsters from Bermuda College before beating them 7-4.

Earlston Brown lost three tough matches 21-15, 22-24, 22-24; 12-21, 21-13, 16-21; 18-21, 23-25 to Chris Fleming, Ian Britchfield and Trevor Elliott respectively.

In doubles Donevin Seymour and Brown lost 21-19, 18-21 and 20-22 to Fleming and Elliott.

Seymour and Lionel Bean led 14-8 and 20-18 in the third game before losing 22-20, 17-21 and 20-22 to Flemming and Britchfield with the youngsters blowing match point several times in ths series.

Fleming had a superb night winning three singles mathes and assisting to win both doubles. He had to play 13 games to accomplish this feat. Britchfield and Elliott each won one match.
