First Division player-of-the-week Stephen Roberts made breaks of 23 and 18 in beating Zane DeSilva 64-38 to lead Queens to a 3-2 win over Sandys. Other Queens winners were Greg Falzone (25-break) and Sandy Sandhu while Gary Skinner and David DeSilva won for Sandys.

The match was decided in the fifth frame with Sandhu taking a black ball win over Roger (Sticks) Henderson.

Stephen Pantry, Mike Tatem and Paul Charleton kept Nationals in the hunt with a 3-2 win over Police. Andy Wright and Timmy Carr won for Police.

Queens moved one step closer to capturing the Second Division Swizzle Cup and promotion with a 4-1 win over OCC III. They were led by Nick Mansell, Glenn Flood, Ed Gumbs and Simon Wait.

Only Second Division player-of-the-week Richard Oliver was able to get a game for OCC. It was Oliver's sixth win of the year and his team's 10th.

Warwick stayed within three points of Queens with one match left by beating St. George's 3-2. JR Robinson, Renaldo Bean and Stan Seymour won for Warwick.

But St. George's got wins from Irvin and Timmy Hayward with the latter beating Andy Peniston to clinch the Second Division aggregate prize with a 13-2 record.

Stan Fearis, Roland Skinner and Gary Soares led OCC II to a close 3-2 win over Spanish Point Boat Club. Kenny Wheatley (23-break) and Eddie Roberts won for SPBC.

HOCKEY HOC League action in women's hockey made way last weekend for two annual trophy matches at National Sports Club field.

The first match was for the Lynn Smith Trophy for B League players, which pitted first and fourth-placed teams in the league (Bluebirds and Cardinals) against the second and third-placed teams (Canaries and Orioles).

It was a well played game with both teams displaying some excellent hockey, but it was the Cardinals-Bluebirds team who won 2-0 with Georgina Adlam of Bluebirds scoring both goals.

The Gerald Sims Trophy match for a League players matched the Longtails and Orioles against Canaries and Cardinals which finished in a 5-5 draw.

Cardinals-Canaries scored the first goal within minutes of the start with Longtails-Orioles replying minutes later. By the half both teams had taken turns scoring with Cardinals-Canaries holding a 4-3 lead.

Longtails-Orioles finally equalised 27 minutes into the second half only to see Cardinals-Canaries take the lead again minutes later. That lead was short-lived as Longtails-Orioles scored in the final minute of play to make it 5-5.

Scoring for Longtails-Orioles were Jeanne Wilson (3), Karen Fletcher and Helen Farrington while for Cardinals-Canaries, Emma Garon scored twice and Rhonda Rawlins, Marie Pitchery and Jackie White one each.

DARTS DRT Recent action in women's darts saw both Limeys and The Rest overpower Onions 4-1 and 6-3 respectively at the Police East Club, while in league play Mariners defeated BPSA 4-3.

There will be a committee meeting on tomorrow at the St. George's D&SC starting at 8 p.m.

CRICKET CRI In preparation of their match with Derbyshire later this month all members of the under 23 squad are asked to attend a training session on Saturday at St.

David's starting at 9.30am.

TENNIS TEN The ninth Annual Father/Son, Mother/Daughter Tennis tournament will be held at the Coral Beach and Tennis Club from March 11-14.

The competition, which is sanctioned by the United States Tennis Association, will involve teams from the US, England and Bermuda.
