`Old Timers' clash is main feature in dinghy racing
Fitted Dinghy racing returns to the east end for the second time this year.
A slice of nostalgia comes as an added treat with an `Old Timers' Race being featured at the end of the day as part of the ongoing celebration of St.
George's Dinghy and Sports Club's treasured craft Victory's 100th birthday.
All six clubs are set to be represented by members of past crews in a `friendly' battle sure to provide its share of entertainment value.
The Old Timers Race is scheduled to start at 3.00 p.m., with a barbecue to follow at the club for all skippers, crews and friends.
Meanwhile, among regular racing for the Coronation Cup, Contest , skippered by Andreas Lewin, will be looking to further stretch her lead over Sandys Boat Club entry, Challenger .
The pair are likely to be in close contact again on Sunday after a pair of exciting duels last weekend.
Contest then stole the show with a two firsts, increasing her series total to 32 points, five and a half ahead of the west end boat, with Port Royal lying third on 22 points. The rest of the standings list Elizabeth fourth (21), Victory fifth (181/4), with Echo bringing up the rear of the fleet (eight).
Sunday's first outing (11.00 a.m.) has the E.R.Williams Shield as the prize, while the second race (1.00 p.m.) is for the Middleton Shield.
