Paynter fights for supremacy

the points spread between first and second in the classes range from four in the 125C to 80 in the 125B.

Howard Paynter leads Carlston Burgess by just four points in the 125C class while Scott Constable is a further 20 points back in third place.

The 125B class, which has normally been the most competitive class, has been struggling with numbers this season -- and it shows with Charles Butterfield leading the pack by a massive 80 points over Kyle Constable in second place.

Butterfield's 164 points have come from eight moto wins and he is well ahead of Constable on 84 points, with Aaron Pace in third place on 32 points.

Steven Panchaud has been consistent in the 80cc class with 11 wins, with a third his worst result. As a result Panchaud leads the class by 38 points over Sean DeSilva. Shaki Easton is third, 71 points behind the leader.

Aaron Cannonier, the current 60cc champion, was leading that class before dropping to fifth after being abroad during Christmas. Now he has his work cut out for him if his goal is a second class title.

Jakai Brimmer leads the 60cc on 151 points, just 10 ahead of Gary Cann. Then there is a big gap with Paulos Francis 51 points out of first place and Cannonier even further back on 78 points.

Jonte Smith has 125 points but is the only competitor in the pee wee 50 class while Brandon DeSilva had 40 pee wee 80 points before stepping up to the more competitive 60cc class where he's sixth behind Cannonier.
