Perry, the former BGA vice-president who travelled with Bermuda's team as manager at last year's World Amateur Team Championships in Chile, was voted in at last week's general committee meeting.

Ingham, who had served as president for three years, decided not to stand for another term.

Bob Legere was elected vice-president while Tom Smith and Muriel Parker remain as secretary and treasurer respectively.

Meanwhile, in other golf news, veteran Australian Roy Vandersluis, who was a regular competitor in Bermuda during the 1980s, is one of the first to confirm his entry for next month's Amateur Match Play Championships at Mid Ocean Club.

Vandersluis lost to Joel Hirsch in the 1983 final and again reached the final in 1984, losing to Dick Horne.

This year's men's championships run from March 9-13 and the ladies' championships from March 9-12. Cut off date for entries is February 22.

America's Cy Kilgore and Lisa McGill are the defending champions.

Entries should be submitted today to secretary Tom Smith for this weekend's 36-hole BGA medal tournament at Ocean View.

BERKELEY STUNS SEEDS PP Berkeley stuns seeds Cory Berkeley defeated the top two seeds on his way to winning the Bermuda Table Tennis Association's Closed Championships at the weekend.

Berkeley dumped number one seed Nick Frost in round two, the latter's first match, coming from a game down in the best-of-three contest.

Then, after being taken to three games himself by Neil Slater in the semi-finals, he overcame number two seed Roderick Masters in the best-of-five final 21-19, 21-12, 21-19.

Masters had not dropped a game on his way to the final, beating Rawle Frederick, Mike Lindo and Don Seymour comfortably.

Berkeley also made the final of the doubles competition in partnership with Hasan Durham but they were beaten there by Frost and Dave Waltham in four games.

Durham claimed the singles consolation prize with a 22-20, 13-21, 21-13 victory over Frederick.
