to win the Bermuda Table Tennis Association round robin tournament at the weekend.

The New Zealander romped to an 8-0 record at the CedarBridge Academy gym and has now won 11 consecutive matches since beginning to play on the Island.

Myron Piper (7-1) was runner-up while defending champion Dave Waltham (6-2) was third. Curtis Hodgson (5-3) came in fourth.

Visitor Cal Herbert (3-5), also a New Zealander, was fifth on the head to head rule over Chris Fleming (3-5).

Kevin Lapsley (2-6) was seventh, Walter Jackson (1-7) eighth and Craig Trott retired with severe back pains while trailing Waltham.

Piper played throughout with a shoulder injury and had to rely on a strong defence and cunning to achieve his success.

In the Gosling's Challenge Cup final tonight, defending champions Old Colony Club are expected to retain the cup over Prison Officers, even though they will be without top player Nick Frost who is off the Island. Quested is expected to fill the gap.

Waltham (36-6) and Fleming (25-14) make for a formidable team.

Hodgson (29-10) is capable of winning his three matches, while Barry Rahman (26-13) and Calvin Butterfield (18-15) must at least win a match each to give Prison Officers a chance of a possible upset, like that which saw them victorious in the semi-final over a strong BPSA team.
