Raiders hit six to stretch win streak

when they convincingly beat Devonshire Colts All-Stars 6-2 at Southampton Oval on Saturday.

It was the eighth straight league triumph of the season for the Raiders in a contest that saw them dominate from start to finish as they went into the interval with a 3-1 lead.

Raiders got two goals apiece from Keith Bell and Jack Castle while Des Minors and Yusef Bouchetta each netted once. Jeff Richardson converted a penalty for All-Stars while their other tally was an own goal by Vinell Paynter.

With Belco having their game against Somerset Extros postponed because of the funeral of a player's family member, Belco lost their second place spot to Exiles who romped over Valley 5-0 at Shelly Bay. They led 2-0 at the half.

Craig Tyrrell and Blain Outerbridge each netted twice while Derek Young got the other in a game that saw Aaron Carmichael of Valley sent off midway through the second half.

Valley were able to field a full side for the first time in three games but they were still without top striker Kevin Isaac and first choice goalkeeper Bim Babomesi. Ashton Thomas, who usually plays sweeper, filled in for Babomesi and suffered the agony of picking the ball out of the net five times.

Devonshire Lions defeated Wolves Pack 5-3 in a close match at Devonshire Rec.

Lions scored four first half goals through Ernest McCallan (3) and Anthony Amory while Donald Norford added another two minutes into the second half.

Paul Douglas got the first for Wolves after 16 minutes and they added two more in the second half through Gary Peniston and Micky Robinson.

At Shelly Bay, St. George's All-Stars warmed up for their tough FA Cup tie against First Division Dandy Town this Sunday with a 5-2 victory over Bermuda Pest Control. They led 3-1 at the half.

Milton Jones got a hat-trick to lead the All-Stars attack while Charles Wade and Duval Smith netted a goal apiece.

There was no play in the Commercial League A Division over the weekend.
