Talbot held off a strong challenge from Mark Morrison and successfully defended his title in a time of 6:02.

Chloe Kempe was the first girl to finish in 7:24, followed by Ashley Robinson Roberts in 7:40 and Robyn Dickinson took third in 7:46.

Flora Duffy also set a new course record in the 10-12 girls race, retaining her title in a time of 7:05, ahead of Kimberly Fisher in 7:40 and Brittany Pitt in 7:43.

Cody Lima won the boys 10-12 race in 6:48 followed by Sandys Middle School team-mate Coyatito Smith in 6:51 and Tyler Abbott in 7:04.

Kyle Wade won the four-year-old boys' one-lap race in 2:15, with Keanu Wilson (2:19) second and Kyle Tucker (2:24) third, while in the four-year-old girls' race, winner Shauntae Hendrickson set a new record time of 2:18, with Shanya Bashir (2:29) second and Danielle Bean (2:32) third.

Two West girls led home the field in the five-year-old girls' race -- Zaire Simmons in a record 2:04 and Kerri Furbert just one second behind. Aljalio Julio was third in 2:07.

In the five-year-old boys' race, the first three finishers all broke the two-minute mark for the 400-metre course. Winton Woodley of West Pembroke set a new record of 1:46, ahead of Leonard Williams (1:53) and Jair Minors (1:55).

Two more records fell in the six-year-olds race. The first three boys to finish the 800-metre course -- Trey Simmons (3:29), Kiaaron Minks (3:30) and Trey Harvey (3:37) -- all broke the previous best mark of 3:40.

And Paget Primary's Ravoshia Whaley set a new best in the girls' race with her winning time of 3:47, with Marli Patton (3:57) second and Taylor Bean (4:00) third.

West End's Camile Simons was first over the line in the seven-year-old girls' race in 3:41, with Apryl Jackson (3:45) second and Ashani Gilbert (3:46) third. The boys' race produced another West End winner, Terron Christopher in 3:11, ahead of Deunte Darrell (3:15) and Tyron Daniels (3:17).

The 8-9 girls' race attracted 101 runners and was won by Harrington Sound's Deanne Lightbourne in 8:07, with Danlia Martin second in 8:20 and Venicia Raynor third in 8:23.

Prospect Primary's Jarazinho Bassett won the 8-9 boys' race in 7:39, Justin Collis was second in 7:50 and Daniel Martin third in 7:55.

The youngsters received their awards from Heather Telford, of sponsors Telford Electric, Roger Lambert, BTFA vice-president of road running, and co-race director and Pacers coach Cal Simons.
