Schools girls' basketball title with a 22-20 final victory at Mount St. Agnes.

Dellwood had shown much determination in fighting back from a 13-2 half-time deficit, but at the final whistle fell just short.

Fredrica Samuels scored eight of her 12 points in the fourth quarter to bring Dellwood to within one point. However, Sandys made some fine defensive plays late in the game to secure the title. Warwick Academy defeated Whitney Institute 41-38 in the boys' final after trailing 26-13 at the half.

The Warwick defence could not stop Whitney's Devon Desottos in the first-half, as he scored with ease on his way to 17 first-period points.

Warwick had a tough time finding the basket but finally stopped Desottos in the second half as they kept him scoreless while finding their own range.

Ryan Durrant scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half while Darren Deshields did a much better job running the Warwick offence. Alex Butterfield added 11 points for the winners.

Berkeley won two of three titles at Bermuda College at the high school championships, avenging their loss to Saltus earlier in the week with a 29-24 victory in the junior boys varsity final. Berkeley lost their rhythm in the second half after having led 19-7 at the break. Shannon Lawrence and Doug Markey scored six second-half points each to bring Saltus to within two points with 10 seconds left. But Berkeley's MVP Vernon Lambe stole the ball with seven seconds on the clock and scored two of his nine points as time expired.

The girls' final was an even closer affair with Saltus edging Berkeley 27-26.

Saltus led throughout the game thanks to Leslie Smith and Erica Frith. But Berkeley slowed Smith down in the second half by double teaming the Saltus centre.

Kemisha Perinchief's eight points led Berkeley in a late fourth quarter rally and actually gave her side a 25-24 lead with under a minute to go. Rolissa Furbert responded at the other end to give Saltus a 26-25 lead with under 20 seconds remaining. Furbert then turned from hero to villain by fouling Michelle Romaine with one second left.

Romaine missed the first free throw but scored the second, sending her team into a wild frenzy. The referee had no choice but to give Berkeley a technical foul as their bench spilled onto the floor. Leslie Smith scored the second of her two attempts to secure victory for Saltus.

Berkeley displayed their dominance in the varsity boys division by blowing away the league's second best team, CedarBridge, 65-41. Berkeley completed an undefeated season in convincing style led by MVP Kenen Robinson, who performed on both sides of the floor. He scored 21 points and dished out countless assists to team-mates on the offensive side while blocking shots and stealing the ball on defence.

Dmitri Butterfield and Jason Simons added 16 and 15 points for Berkeley. Jason Lowe was CedarBridge's lone bright spot, scoring 16 points.
