Second Division round-up

Southampton Rangers extended their winning streak to 11 league games with this comfortable away victory over Prospect.

Jason (Ghost) Raynor put the visitors ahead via the penalty spot in the first half and it was then left to Neville Grant to apply insurance in the second period.

The result kept Rangers six points clear at the top of the Second Division, needing just three points to guarantee promotion to the top flight.

Wolves 3 Ham. Parish 1 Wolves used a mid-second half burst to extinguish Hamilton Parish in a heated battle at Devonshire Rec.

Shannon Berkeley opened the scoring in the 28th minute for Wolves, before Jermaine Outerbridge levelled things at 1-1 with in the 60th minute.

However, home team forward Tori Davis would later put on a scoring show, netting twice in the space of 10 minutes -- 63rd and 73rd -- to assure Wolves two points and move them to fifth above idle Port Royal S.Eagles 2 Social Club 1 Somerset Eagles maintained their promotion charge, brushing aside a challenge from fellow hopefuls Social Club in a crucial match at White Hill Field.

Both teams entered needing maximum points and Eagles appeared the hungrier of the two as they consolidated their spot in second place behind runaway leaders Southampton.

Sammy Maybury gave the home side an early lead, taking advantage of a goalkeeping blunder by Social Club's Shejuan Swan to squeeze the ball home.

The advantage was short lived as Dean Young equalised in controversial fashion, scoring from what appeared to be an offside position.

It was then left for Oscar Riley to settle matters once and for all, powering the ball into goal after Everett Wellman had supplied the cross.

Paget 2 St. David's 4 St. David's took advantage of Social Club's loss to Eagles by moving into third place.

They picked up victory thanks to two goals from top scorer Keith Jennings and one each from Worrell Bean and Patrick (PJ) White which sent Paget to their 11th straight loss, though the home team did offer some resistance.

The result puts St.David's two points ahead of Social Club, who have two games in hand, and two points behind Eagles.
