Second Division round-up
Diminutive forward Tito Smith had a field day against Paget's defence when he hammered four goals to lead BAA to this emphatic Second Division victory at Southampton Oval yesterday.
Spearheaded by Smith's pace, the visitors were on the scoresheet early when he put them a goal ahead after just eight minutes.
Wayne DeSilva added the second with a fine effort after 34 minutes, but Paget then managed to organise themselves and denied Smith and his team-mates any further success before the half.
BAA, however, ran riot in the second half with Smith scoring three more times and Craig Crichlow getting another.
St. David's 3 Social Club 1 St. David's lifted themselves into the thick of the leadership battle, finally showing signs of their abundant potential with this 3-1 victory over visiting Social Club.
The Islanders were always a notch above their forlorn opponents, adding two first half strikes from Lionel Cann with an explosive second half goal from Keith Jennings.
Delton White provided the only highlight for Social Club, his header able to at least get his team on the scoresheet.
The result saw St. David's move four places from ninth to fourth -- level on four points with BAA but with an inferior goal difference.
Wolves 2 Prospect 0 Wolves maintained their perfect record in the Second Division with this workmanlike victory over Prospect on Friday night at Devonshire Rec. Goals on either side of the interval by Rio Peniston served to settle the affair in favour of the home side.
Wolves now have nine points from three matches to stand firmly atop the standings.
Dev.Cougars 2 Ham.Parish 2 Devonshire Cougars and Hamilton Parish battled to a standstill during this encounter at Devonshire Rec. on Friday night.
Goals from Parish's Glenn Smith and Preston Mallory of Cougars made for a 1-1 half-time score and the second period did nothing to separate the two sides.
Phillips Burgess tallied for the visitors, but this was answered by Cougars as the home side snared a share of the points. However, each fell further behind division leading Wolves. Cougars now trail by four points, Parish by six.
