championships witnessed Emma Rego put on a spectacular display in only her first meet of the year.

Ten-year-old Rego won all nine races that she entered, an achievement unmatched by any other competitor at the meet which attracted competitors from all three swim clubs -- Sharks, Triangles and Harbour.

Rego's exploits garnered her the high points trophy for her age group, an amazing accomplishment considering she had not participated in the first two meets of the championship.

Sharing the spotlight were swimmers in the eight and under category with Roy-Allan Burch of Sharks and Brianna Holmes of Triangles both breaking long standing records.

Burch set new marks in the 25 and 50 metres freestyle (16.57 and 36.78), erasing the old records of 16.71 and 37.06 set by Kwame Caisey and Geri Mewett.

Meanwhile, Triangles' Holmes finished almost 20 seconds ahead of the nearest competitor in the 100 metres individual medley in a time of one minute, 43.69 seconds, demolishing Caroline Greetham's record time of 1:47.45 set in 1986.

Others singling themselves out with fine performances included Stephen Troake, Nuri Latham, Darryl Steynor, Tamika Williams, Stephen Fahy, all of whom won three events. Double winners were Meghan Jones, Paul Murphy, Adam Petty, Jessica Sousa, Candace Marson, Lindsay Taylor, Abigail Madeiros, Zoe Roberts and Paul Fox.
