Squash Club Championships at Devonshire Courts.

Match of the day honours went to Lile Khaw and Christine Barnes, who endured a 90-minute marathon in the Ladies A event.

In a game of nip and tuck, Khaw took the first game 9-6, but Barnes came back to level, seizing the second by a similar margin.

Khaw stole the third 9-7, only to have Barnes produce a string of good volleys on her way to taking the fourth and setting up a crucial fifth game.

The effort though seemed to sap Barnes and Khaw took full advantage of her fading opponent to win the fifth 9-2.

Meanwhile, in the Men's A event Phil Barnes seemed on his way to an upset over fourth seed Tony Prentice in going up 2-0, only to have Prentice claw his way back for a 3-2 win.
