St.George's stun league leaders
season to date when they won 4-1 away to Somerset last Saturday.
The young east-enders, who belatedly kick-started their season with a shut-out of Devonshire Colts the week before, rebounded from an embarrassing 10-0 setback in the corresponding fixture a year ago -- and they did it with 10 men! Somerset's Premier Division regular Nasir Wade scored the only goal for the home team who remain top of the table, but lost an unblemished record in definitive fashion.
The only blight on St. George's was that their coaching staff failed to furnish the league with goalscorers for the second week running.
Elsewhere, in the league's senior age group, Southampton overcame Devonshire Colts 3-2 in an engaging game. Niedal Swan scored twice for Southampton and Kamen Tucker the other while Dion Woodley and Coolridge Durham netted for Colts.
Anthony Burchall returned from a one-game suspension to help St. David's to a creditable 1-1 draw with North Village in the remaining fixture.
There were goals galore for PHC Whites in the Under-15 League where they romped to a 16-0 beating of Hotels.
The result allowed the Whites to take over first place on goal difference from champions North Village who were idle.
There were hat-tricks for Jahnai Raynor and Sean Brangman with Jonathan Ball, Sheroy Fubler, Jamie Raynor, Kevun Arorash and Kadoni Evans scoring two each.
In a more acceptable scoreline, Total Football Academy downed Devonshire Colts 3-1 on goals from Detroy Smith (two) and Kanhai Armstrong.
There was a milestone in the Under-13 League where Crossroads Warriors recorded their first-ever victory in a competitive age group.
Howard Ascento and Patrick Richardson netted the goals in a 2-0 win over Devonshire Colts at Somersall field.
At BAA field, Allan Douglas enjoyed four strikes as St. George's beat BAA 5-1.
Rodney Trott got the other goal while Jordan Commissiong replied for the home team.
Dandy Town topped PHC 4-1 with Noel Barnett on the mark twice and Reginald Baker and Denico Hollis once each. Andre Jones scored for PHC.
And Somerset doubled up on Western Rovers 4-2 where Andre Outerbridge, Matthew Cavello, Miguel Lopes and an Alex Butterfield own goal made the home team happy campers. Jesse Seymour was on target twice in the Rovers' second-half fightback.
Colin Richardson had himself a good time in the Under-11 Developmental League, with a five-goal outburst. But, on this rare occasion, the youngster was not on the winning team -- BAA lost 10-5 to St. George's.
That was not to be the case with Mike Williams, however, as he had four goals in Somerset's 5-2 win over Western Rovers. M.Thomas had the other goal with Cornell Bean and Tyler Thomas replying for Rovers.
At Gymnasium field, Tristan Daniels and Daniel Woods netted to help North Village Reds to a 2-0 win over Crossroads Warriors.
And there was success for the Village Whites as well, to the tune of a 10-3 beating of Devonshire Cougars. Tamauri Tucker scored a hat-trick and Patrick Castle two with single efforts coming from Norris Wilkinson, Kyle Wade, Glenn Walker, Dante m Trott and Kyle Ferreira.
Boulevard drew 2-2 with Hamilton Parish and Dandy Town beat PHC 3-0 in the other matches. Tafari Smith and Jahleel Crockwell scored for Boulevard while Nakhi Wells, Kahmori Brangman and Akeem Talbot contributed to the Town win.
