That much was confirmed yesterday as 1994 winner Pat Morgan was ousted by Helen Stovell in the day's first semi-final.
It was a case of sweet revenge for Stovell, who fell to Morgan at the same stage a year ago. This time, however, it was Stovell's turn to shine as she ran out a seven and five, leaving Morgan downtrodden.
Meanwhile, another dramatic shift occurred in the other semi-final featuring Lisa Griffin and Lee Ann Vogel. Griffin likewise reversed the tables from a year ago by downing Vogel at the 19th hole.
Among the first flight a final contest was set up between Valerie Nearon and Marjorie Deigert, after Nearon beat Caroline Hammond two and one while Deigert downed Glenda Todd one up.
