The 16-round motocross season drew to a close on Sunday with a fun day which allowed competitors to ride different sized bikes.
The 125 riders such as Aaron Pace and Carlston Burgess Jr. rode 80cc machines while 80cc regular Sean DeSilva handled the 125 bike. Parents experienced the bumps and jumps too, as national champions were crowned with three new class winners.
Jonte Smith became the third pee wee 50 national champion in his first year of trying, but officials will be hoping for more riders in this class next year.
Smith had things virtually his own way all season. Brandon DeSilva won his third title, this time in the pee wee 80 class. He also competed in the 60cc class where he finished third.
Jakai Brimmer took over from last year's winner Aaron Cannonier in the 60cc class after Cannonier suffered a disappointing year which saw him drop to sixth in the standings. Brimmer attended riding classes which paid off as he ran away with a string of victories.
Last year in the 80cc, Steven Panchaud held the points lead for four rounds until he was passed by Howard Paynter. This year Panchaud stayed in first place in all the rounds, finishing as high points champion with 491 points.
Sean DeSilva, sixth last year, had a career best second place while Jimmy Lee Weaver, in his rookie year, was third.
A new 80cc class was started as a bridge between the 80s and 125s and was won by Craig Panchaud with Levon Seymour second.
Howard Paynter was the sensation of the 125C class, winning all but one of the national rounds for his second class title. Carlston Burgess chased him all year for second with Mark Hatherley third despite having his bike stolen at the end of March.
The 125B class started slowly with only two riders but ended with seven of the fastest riders. Charles Butterfield predicted before the season began that he would take a shot at the title and true to his word he did.
Butterfield won the class with Kyle Constable his closest competitor before injuries stopped him. In third place was four-time champion Aaron Pace who didn't have enough time to make up the 72 point gap.
Ricardo Nottingham repeated as 250C champion with Duprey Joell second.

GOLF GLF Bermuda's Heather Woolf and partner Stephanie Garner of Quebec enjoy a two-stroke lead after the first round of the 14th annual Mid Ocean Club Ladies Invitational golf tournament.
