Three ponies made their local debuts as the new harness racing season got underway at Vesey Street on Sunday.

Mark Lindo's Dream Way and Michael DeCosta's Crunch Time both made victorious starts, but the third, Jennifer Time, a two-year-old stakes winner in the US, failed to get untracked and came in third on two occasions.

Several other ponies returned to racing after lay-offs. Arthur Hurst's Shamrock Marla and Daniel Greenslade's Hoe Down Don recorded a win each, while Anthony Rego's TW Second Try won both her heats.

The next meet is scheduled for October 25 at 1.00 p.m.

CRICKET CRI The Public Transportation Board beat the Post Office by five wickets in their annual cricket match on Sunday at Sea Breeze Oval.

Batting first, the Post Office could only manage 72 all out, a target the bus drivers reached with relative ease, replying with 74-5.
