Many of the Island's top athletes are expected to compete in the five-mile run through Hamilton, starting at 1.30 p.m. Sunday. It will be preceded by a two-mile team relay event.

The course for this year's run has been altered so as not to conflict with Sunday grocery shopping. Runners will depart Number Six shed on Front Street, turn up Court Street to Reid, back along Reid to Queen Street, and back down to Front.

Previously, the course extended to King Street. Now two more loops have been added to a shorter track, translating into exactly five miles. Previously, the race was actually a little less than five miles. Finish line is in front of Number Six Shed.

Runners in the relay will pass a baton, with each member of the team running one lap.

As in previous years, the race is sponsored by Kitson Group of Companies. A grand prize draw for a weekend for two at The Reefs will be held to celebrate their 50th anniversay.

Late entries for the individual race will be accepted until 12.45 p.m.

tomorrow. Entry forms are available from New Winners Edge, Sportseller and Pro Shop.
