Trio set new swim records

Particularly impressive was 15-year-old Graham Smith who finally eclipsed the 200 metres breaststroke mark set eight years ago by Olympic and Commonwealth Games swimmer Chris Flook.

Smith, of the Harbour Swim Club, clocked 2:31.76 in the 15-and-over event to shave 13 hundredths of a second off the old mark.

Eight year-old Elizabeth Brewin of Dolphins, meanwhile, continued her record breaking-season when she shattered the 11-year-old record of 1:30.72 set by Monica Rowe in the eight and under 100m freestyle. Brewin came home in 1:24.46.

Kiera Aitken added another record in the 13-14 800 freestyle. The fourteen year-old, of Dolphins, clocked 10:01.29, beating Elisha Miller's mark set four years ago by a whopping 16.05 seconds.
