Troake sets second record

A total of 13 records fell during the Harbour Open meet, 11 of them courtesy of Blackburn. The others were by Stephen Troake, who broke his second mark of the competition during Saturday's final when he swam the 200-metre backstroke in two minutes, 14.75 seconds.

That broke former Commonwealth Games swimmer Stanley Harris' record by .13 seconds. On Thursday, Troake set a new standard in the 50m freestyle.

On Sunday, another record holder got into the act during the annual Trunk Island open water swim.

Stephen Fahy won the annual three quarter mile Harrington Sound jaunt, nosing out Ronald Cowen. Blackburn was third with Trevor Ferguson fourth.

A busy week of swimming concluded last night with a relay meet pitting the best of Bermuda against the best of the visitors.
