Troublemakers and Mix Ups took first and second team honours in game and series on their way to 3-1 wins over Untouchables and E&C Well Drilling

Troublemakers had the top series and game of 2,068 and 736 while Mix Ups' 2,041 and 724 placed them second on the list. Individually for Mix Ups, Anthony Smith had the third men's series 569.

Howard Francis of Untouchables had the top men's game of 230 while Millie Waldron was third on the women's list with her 539 series and 209 game.

Joan Burgess of E&C led her team with the top game of 213 and second series 557.

Last Minutes rolled a 2,017 team series in a 4-0 win over Dolphins as Vernon Daniels rolled the second high men's series of 570 and third game of 213.

Kevin Minors claimed the top men's series of 595 and second high game of 225 in a losing cause for the Dolphins.

In the other matches, Strikers beat Dynamic Four 4-0 after rolling the third high team game of 723 while B's & G's stopped Trojans by the same score. Judy Lowe of Trojans claimed the women's top series with her 558 while Myrna Outerbridge of B's & G's had a 212 second high game.

Pro Staff took full advantage of a short-handed Terrible Four team in sweeping all 20 points to take over first place in the Mixed Classic League standings.

The Perfect Combination and Us Until encounter resulted in a 16-4 win for Us Until as Patricia Price had the women's top series of 567 and third game of 192 with assistance from Frances Trott with a 536 second series and top game of 220.

Four Star Pizza were led by Vernon Daniels' 564 series and Michelle Simons' 518 women's third high series in a 16-4 win over Get Togethers who were led by Reggie Saunders with a 501 series in a losing cause.

A&J Sportscards beat Amflites 16-4 with the first and second games only two and 12 pins apart for the points. Doug Hines led the Sportscards with the top series of 602 and third game of 215 while Hilton Hayward had the third series of 570 in support.

Amflites were led by Joe Correia who topped the games list with a 233 with Donna Amaral tying for the women's third series of 518 and second game of 204.

The other match saw Flagler Street Gang beat East End Asphalt 13-7 thanks to Miles Smith bowling the men's second high series of 578 and Quinton Mallory's second high game of 223.

GOLF GLF A total of 19 professionals will be vying for Kim Swan's title when the second annual Johnnie Walker Black Label Classic starts tomorrow at Ocean View Golf Club.

Swan is the defending champion amongst the pros who will play three days while Chalmers Talbot was last year's amateur winner. The amateurs will play 36 holes starting on Saturday.

There is some $3,500 in prize money for the pros, from $1,000 for the winner to $160 to the 10th-place finisher. There are also numerous Johnnie Walker prizes to be won.

As well there is an all expenses paid trip to the Johnnie Walker World Golf Championships in Tryall, Jamaica, in December for anyone who shoots a hole-in-one on the par-three third hole.

Failing to accomplish that there will be a putter to be won from Johnnie Walker for the player getting closest to the pin. The winning pro's caddy will also take home a prize.

CRICKET CRI Police successfully retained the CARIB Shield over the weekend with an emphatic 96-run thrashing of West Indian Association (WIA).

Dwayne Leverock blasted his way to 97 not out and received assistance from Ferdinand Thorne (42) and Terry Thomas (36) to boost the boys in blue to 231 for five from their allotted 40 overs.

Olwin Clarke was the leading bowler for WIA, claiming two for 19 through his medium-pace deliveries.

Turning to bat, WIA got 42 from number three batsman Jerry Calendar and 21 from George Babb, but were still helpless against a Police attack led by Junior Watts and Randolph Byer.

Watts surged through the line-up and was responsible for six wickets that came at a low cost of 26 runs, while Byer gave up 35 in taking three scalps, as WIA slumped to 117 all out.

There will be meeting for all those interested in travelling with the Devonshire Recreation Club tour group to Barbados next year at the club tomorrow at 7 p.m.

SOCCER SOC Spinning Wheel Raiders will play Social Club on Sunday in a friendly match at Prospect Gym field starting at 10 a.m.

FISHING FSH The Mid-Ocean News Wahoo Tournament, postponed last weekend because of the threat of bad weather, will now take place this Sunday.

The competition is open to all anglers, not just those previously registered.

A recorded message on 238-0112 will announce any further decision to postpone.

It will be available from 5 a.m. on Sunday.
