reach the half-way point in the Pepsi Nationals at Coney Island.

The exciting day saw changes in the point standings with the more consistent riders moving closer to challenge those who raced off to early leads.

In the 50cc Class it was Polini against KTM, Craig Smith and Kellen Lewis, who won three races between them to finish one-two while Luke Parker and Kenshae Wilson were third and fourth on KTM. Lewis though still has the points lead with Parker second overall.

Tullio Escolastica made his first hat-trick of the season by mastering the course run in the clockwise direction for the first time this year. Zahkie McIntosh was runner-up on two occasions for second while Jaircybio Rattery rode well for third, edging out Chad Sutherland and Jonte Smith.

McIntosh still carries the 65cc point lead four weeks in a row with Sutherland 26 points behind. Garry Cann was the fastest rider in the combined 80B and 80 C classes, easily out distancing Loronzo Burch for second overall in the 80 B Class. Cann has had the points lead for six weeks with a 56-point cushion on Burch who is 92 ahead of Aaron Cannonier, who is expected back in action by the next Pepsi National.

Meanwhile in the 80 C races first-year novice rider Zico Majors has come from nowhere and started to take on the more established stars in his class and started to attack the 80 B riders as well.

Majors, who won his first overall at the last event, captured a hat-trick on Sunday and has now moved to fourth in the standings. Gary Blackwell keeps the point lead despite being the runner-up while Anthony Grant made a miraculous recovery from injury to come in ahead of Melonie Munroe on a day when all eight riders finished in order and surprisingly never changed in all three motos.

Otis Ingham won line honours for the combined 250-125 B and C races where he was not headed. Craig Panchaud, the second member of the Wheels MX team, won two 125 B motos and the overall came within three points of leading the championship. Duprey Joell won the third moto to finish second overall.

Wentworth Tucker and Treadwell Nesbitt were tied for third but Jamel Hassell is in deep trouble with three fifths and must turn his programme around if he wants the number one plate.

The 125 C class point leader Cavon Perinchief finished fourth and has two fast riders approaching, Ashley Simmons and Enwar Hunt.

Simmons is nine points behind but made ground by placing second three times on Sunday while Hunt scored a hat trick of wins on the day in the class before continuing on to take on the B class riders to finish second.

Hunt is in third place and remains just 15 points out of first.
